Firstly a warning, i'm not sure you could call this a blog or by any stretch
of the imagination a technical tutorial of any description. Rather it's a little more
info about some of the photos you can see at Cambridge Images.
I'll try and update this on a fairly regular basis, but adding new images will always
take priority.
Newest entries will always appear at the top, which doesn't defy all logic.

17th, 10th: Two early Sunday morning starts both cold and frosty, particularly the 17th the car
was claiming -8 as a drove in past Addenbrookes at 7am. On the 10th I concentrated on the backs.
The river was a little murky, quite normal for this time of year. I had noticed some striking
crocus near Trinity college so that was on my tick list although they were all tightly closed
with the cold start. I learned and important lesson on the 10th ALWAYS carry spare batteries!
By 8:30am and one 2gb card full my camera simply shut down. Five minutes in a warm pocket
breathed some life back into it and I was able to finish off by 9am.

A week later I tried to get some city centre shots, but with bin collections and
difficult lighting I didn't get much to show for my efforts. Back home by 9:15am
still plenty of time to get the family back into church for 10:30am.
A few months back I bought a copy of PhotoMatix pro for doing HDR shots. I don't like
"fake look HDR's", but done subtly it does have great uses. Last week I was browsing Max Lyons
panoramic forums and he has developed a piece of software called
TuFuse
It's used for combining multiple exposures for both extended dynamic range and also depth
of field, but without the "overcooked look" I gave it a quick go and so far I've been very
impressed with the output. Best of all it's free!
5th: Back end of January is was contacted by fdmartwork who put art on walls in pubs, restaurants etc. They wanted to put 5 of my pictures in the
Baron of Beef (Bridge Street, Cambridge). Two are large framed prints, three are canvases.
They did the printing and framing because they were on a tight schedule.
Pop in and have a look if you are passing.

24th: BIGGER PICTURES complete with EXIF! I've done a slight tweak on the website and as a
result increased the image size so you can see the pictures a little better. I've decided to leave all EXIF data attached to the photos so for those interested you can view this information.
Unfotunately there is no EXIF on the panoramic shots.
You may need to download a browser addon to view the EXIF info, I can recommend Opanda IExif, check it out at opanda.com it's free!
